The Canyon community-neighborhood of Laguna Beach is located off Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, CA. This is one of the older and more rural areas of Laguna Beach. Laguna Canyon Road is also known as CA-133 and connects commuters directly to the downtown area of Laguna Beach where it turns into Broadway Street. Laguna Canyon is home to much visited attractions such as: Pacific Marine Mammal Center, Pageant of the Masters, The Laguna Playhouse, The Sawdust Festival, Laguna Canyon Winery, and Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. Laguna Coast Wilderness Park is a 7,000-acre wilderness area located on Laguna Canyon Road and is one of the last coastal canyons in Southern California. There are approximately 40 miles of biking/hiking/running trails. The landscapes include oak, sycamore, and willow woodlands as well as cacti, sage, and grassland. Lots of animals make Laguna Coast Wilderness Park their home including birds, bobcats, deer, hawks, weasels, and more. Barbara's Lake, located in Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, is Orange County's only natural lake.
