Today, we are spotlighting one of the northernmost neighborhoods of Laguna Beach, California.
Emerald Bay
North Laguna Beach
The community of Emerald Bay lies on both the west side (coast side) and the east side (bluff side) of N. Coast Hwy. A tunnel running under the highway connects the two sides.
Emerald Bay is a guard-gated community. It is one of Laguna’s truly private, resident only, beaches. The only way to visit Emerald Bay’s beach is from the water. Yachts from around the world often anchor in the blue waters of Emerald Bay.
There are approximately 500 homes in Emerald Bay. The homes can range in price from around 3 million to 65 million. Rental homes in Emerald bay may range from 9,000 to 38,000. These luxurious homes are either oceanfront, ocean view, and/or bluff top homes.
Community Amenities include their private beach, beach volleyball, a tennis court, a grassy park, an ocean front playground, and a huge parking lot. There are 2 lifeguard stands during the summer months.
On the east side of N. Coast Highway is Swanson Park. Swanson Park has 5 lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, the Tripp playground, and a beautiful walking pathway. The path takes you to the Victor C. Andrews Community Center, a tennis pro shop, and a clubhouse. A little beyond that and you will find Al Simmons swim center with a 25-meter lap pool.
Emerald Bay’s also has its very own fire station run by the Orange County Fire Department.
The only Laguna Beach neighborhood that lies north of Emerald Bay is Irvine Cove. Emerald Bay’s private beach is just north of Crescent Bay Beach and Crescent Bay Point Park.
